KOTA KINABALU: Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd, confident with the takaful industry’s potential in Sabah, expects its business in the state to continue double-digit growth.
Executive Vice President (Business Operations) Wan Mohd Fadzlullah Wan Abdullah said the target for 2012 was to achieve RM25 million in contributions, an increase of RM10 million compared with last year.
The company’s focus was still Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan dan Tawau, he told Bernama.
He said Takaful Ikhlas that commenced operations in this Land Below the Wind four years ago, had performed well with in force business contributions amounting to RM68 million to date.
To expand its market here, the company would increase the number of agents to 225 this year from 125 presently besides working together with 75 bank branches.
Takaful Ikhlas’ partner banks comprise RHB Bank, MBSB, Agro Bank, Affin Bank, Public Bank, Bank Muamalat and Bank Rakyat.
“We offer four of our attractive policies to be marketed through the banks.
“They are IKHLAS Mortgage Reducing Term Takaful, IKHLAS Group Comprehensive Term Takaful, Personal Accident and Fire/Houseowner,” Fadzlullah said.
Meanwhile, Takaful Ikhlas uses the ongoing Malaysia Unit Trust Week here as a platform to thank its customers and partner banks.
“We’re offering RM18,000 worth of incentives to customers who take up Takaful Ikhlas policies through bank branches,” Fadzlullah said.
The incentives were in form of cash vouchers and electrical items such as television, computers and cameras.
Participating bank branches would also receive incentives if they achieve contribution targets.
“Hopefully, these incentives will encourage our partners to intensify efforts promoting our products besides strengthening the existing ties,” he said.
