Sabah potential destination for international exhibitions

Sabah has the potential to be a destination for international exhibitions, especially for high technology equipment involving oil and gas and slosh palm oil industry.
Managing director of Fireworks Event (M) Sdn Bhd, Jerel Soo said the natural sources in the state would bring in more professionals in the region to take part in any international events held here.
Soo who is currently organizing Sabah’s first Asean Oil and Gas Expo (AGEX) 2010 at the Sabah Trade Center here, said, “AGEX) 2010 offers an ideal platform to explore new oil and gas business opportunities, expand market presence and penetrate emerging markets in Sabah.
“Due to the participation of 130 companies in this exhibition, we will be expanding our services to a similar exhibition by end of this month at the same venue,” he told The Borneo Post after the opening of the three-day AGEX 2010.
Present at the event was Industrial Development Minister Datuk Raymond Tan.
Soo said with RM 400,000 of advertisement and promotional expenses worldwide in the current AGEX 2010, Fireworks Event (M) Sdn Bhd once again called on potential; investors to participate in Palmex Malaysia.
According to Soo, Palmex Malaysia is one of Asia’s largest palm exhibitions which will be held from July 29 and 31 to showcase the latest development in the palm oil industry.
“More than 6,000 professionals from more than 10 countries are expected to turn up at this Plamex Malaysia Expo.
“It will highlight the challenges and opportunities in the palm oil industry of palm oil producing countries,” Soo said, adding that it also promotes and introduces new technologies, products and services needed to further develop the industry.
Fireworks Event is part of the Fireworks Trade Media Group, a large conglomerate of media companies, which owns businesses training from directories and magazines to exhibitions and conferences.

I hope there are more international exhibitions held here in Sabah. This can boost the economy and bring more tourists coming in.
