World No. 1 Chong Wei was made to slog before snuffing out the fire of the battling Chen Long to win an exhausting men’s singles semi-final 21-18, 17-21, 21-13 in one hour and 15 minutes.

Yesterday’s win over one of his main challengers for Olympic glory was also a timely boost ahead of the Games in July.
