KOTA KINABALU: The rapid development in the plantation industry in Sabah will provide huge potentials in the heavy vehicle market such as trucks.

Industrial Development Minister Datuk Raymond Tan said the introduction of Tan Chong’s Biston trucks would greatly assist  transportation and logistics in the state thereby directly influencing the economic growth of Sabah.

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, the exploration and production arm of Petronas, has made two significant gas discoveries in the shallow waters off west coast of Sabah.

In a statement, Petronas said the first discovery was via the Zuhai East-1 well, which was located in the Samarang Asam Paya Block about 130km south-west of Kota Kinabalu.

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Chemicals Bhd (Petronas Chemicals) hopes the fund–raising exercise for the development of its fertiliser plant in Sipitang, Sabah, can be concluded by year-end.

Its chairman Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin said the company was looking for internal and external sources of funding for the estimated US$1.5 billion (some RM4.434 billion) gross development value project.
