KUALA LUMPUR: RAM Holdings Bhd expects the economy to expand by 7.4 per cent this year albeit a moderate momentum in the second half of this year.

It said Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow at 5.6 per cent slower pace in the second half of 2010, on account of moderating external demand, fading low-base effects and easing restocking activities.

Economists polled by Business Times forecast the economy to grow 7.93 per cent year on year in the second quarter, from 10.1 per cent in the first.
