Pas president tells Kapar MP to resign

SHAH ALAM: Kapar member of Parliament S. Manikavasagam’s move to quit Parti Keadilan Rakyat left some Pakatan Rakyat leaders hot and worried.

Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said yesterday that the PKR supreme council member should step down as an MP and recontest as an independent candidate in a by-election.

“He should not have quit the party and this shows that he has no principles, and is not consistent.

“He has betrayed the people who elected him under the Keadilan ticket,” he said after launching Jom Sertai Pas (Let’s Join Pas) campaign here.

Kuala Lumpur – 10th December 2008 (Tuesday). Press released by Andrew Goh, Assistant Press Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister/ Minister of Infrastructure Development Sabah.

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib listened to a briefing from SESB and TNB on the supply of electricity for Sabah in particular the shortage in the east coast of Sabah at the Parliament House. SESB raised the proposal of the coal plant in Lahad Datu and the subsequent move to relocate the plant to Sandakan. TNB wanted an affirmative decision from the Sabah State Government to decide the site for the coal plant.
